About us

Lonesome Critters Ranch is a non-profit 501c3 organization which assists animal shelters and rescue groups with those rescued kitties with special needs.  We began in 2011 when we realized that a local shelter, that was believed to be "no kill", was having FeLv+ and FIV+ cats euthanized because they did not have space for them and they are unadoptable.  Assisting rescue groups and shelters with these special needs kitties opens up valuable space for others to be adopted more quickly, and prevents unecessary euthanasia of those currently healthy critters.

Many of the cats that come to stay with us have tested positive for FIV and/or FeLv, some have physical, neurological, or emotional handicaps and some are abandoned in their senior years.  At Lonesome Critters Ranch these animals find a loving environment, our kitties are free to roam the furnished home atmosphere and and have the wonderful care of our terrific volunteers!  We also provide education on those with special needs, please visit our eduation page.

In addition, we have a small number of farm animals that found themselves in need of a loving home.

At Lonesome Critters Ranch we are not an adoption house, although we have adopted out companion kitties for others with special needs.  We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of these domestic critters by creating a stable home environment and supporting the continued rescue, shelter and TNR efforts of shelters and rescue groups.
